The Kanohi Rau is the Mask of Translation.
The Great Kanohi Rau allows its user to understand and communicate in almost any written or spoken language within the Matoran Universe. The Noble Kanohi Rau only lets the user understand writing, runes, and symbols. However, both versions enable the user to instinctively comprehend the intent and meaning behind pictographic carvings or murals.
A Rau Nuva is created when a destined Rau is dipped in Energized Protodermis. In addition to its standard abilities, its effects last longer, and the Great Nuva allows the user to gain deeper insights into the material it translates, and its power can be shared with individuals near the user; however, it can only be used by Nuva beings.

As a 0AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to gain the ability to read, speak, and understand any language, as well as the ability to correctly decipher pictographs and murals, for the next four hours.
Noble
As a 0AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to gain the ability to read any language and to correctly decipher pictographs and murals, for the next four hours.
Great Nuva
As a 0AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to gain the ability to read, speak, and understand any language, as well as the ability to correctly decipher pictographs and murals, for the next five hours. Additionally, a Rau Nuva user may spend two hours of downtime with a translated piece of information to gain insight on one past event relevant to the translation, such as the identity of the author, in a way similar to the Kanohi Vaamaku.
Noble Nuva
As a 0AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to gain the ability to read any language and to correctly decipher pictographs and murals, for the next five hours.
