The Kanohi Mutuku is the Mask of Emulation (also called the Mask of Absorption). A Mutuku Nuva is created when a destined Mutuku is exposed to Energized Protodermis.

Emulate disks grants the thrower a power possessed by the struck target for a duration. Effects emulated by higher level disks are maintained for a longer duration.
- A power is any ability that does not rely on an organ or mechanism. For instance, Ursare, who breathe water using gills, or Vanaki, who fly through the use of wings are do not have powers of water breathing or flight. However, the hypnotic ability of the Manidi, or the energy attacks of a Vhisotai, are powers. Possessing a Rhotuka launcher is not a power.
- The mask cannot copy Rhotuka or Kanohi powers, or the powers of equipment.
- The mask does not work on Spherus Magna beings or Rahi.
