The Kanohi Miru is the Mask of Levitation. A Miru Nuva is created when a destined Miru is exposed to Energized Protodermis.

The Kanohi Miru can be used to levitate in the air, though it is incapable of any horizontal movement on its own.

The Great Kanohi Miru makes the user lighter, allowing them float and glide on air, or slow their fall before hitting the ground. However, it does not grant self-propelled flight. Being incapable of horizontal movement on its own, the user must thus rely on wind currents or other means of propulsion.

The Great mask allows for quicker upwards or downwards movement than the Noble Miru.

The Noble Kanohi Miru makes the user lighter, allowing them float and glide on air, or slow their fall before hitting the ground. However, it does not grant self-propelled flight. Being incapable of horizontal movement on its own, the user must thus rely on wind currents or other means of propulsion.

Being incapable of horizontal movement on its own, the user must thus rely on wind currents or other means of propulsion.

The Great Nuva mask allows for quicker upwards or downwards movement than the Great Miru. Additionally, it allows the user to glide on air without relying on updrafts.

Being incapable of horizontal movement on its own, the user must thus rely on wind currents or other means of propulsion.

The Noble Nuva mask allows for quicker upwards or downwards movement than the Noble mask, though not at the level of the Great Miru. Additionally, it allows the user to glide on air without relying on updrafts.

Levitate disks make a target lighter, making them float upwards.

Higher level disks make the target float faster.

  • In combination with the Garwamu, Mask of Weight Increase, the effects of both masks cancel out.
  • In combination with the Kakama, Mask of Speed, flight can be achived.

Application

The Kanohi Miru is closely associated with Le-Matoran due to it being the mask worn by Toa Lewa in legends.

Levitate disks were used in combination with Increase Weight disks to control the altitude of Metru Nui's Airships. Levitate disks were also used in Ancient's boots, which allowed him to float when stomping against the ground. The flying ability of Vahki may also be accomplished using similar means.[1] The Vortixx Rhotuka Battle Axe used Levitate disks in order to make the weapon lighter.

Lariska used Levitate Kanoka to simulate combat in a low gravity environment, in preparation for fighting a Toa of Gravity.

In the Doronai Nui

This is reflective of the rules as presented in Version 0.9.1.2

Always Active: No
AP Cost: Variable (1, Reaction)
In-Combat Charge Duration: 1 KC = 3 Rounds (FO)
Great Out-of-Combat Charge Duration: 30 Minutes

As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to gain a vertical Flight Speed of 40ft. For each additional Kanohi Charge spent, add the length of the original duration to the total duration, and increase the Flight Speed by 15ft. They may only control their vertical movement, and may not use this Flight Speed to move in directions other than up and down. Additionally, when the wearer activates this effect of the Miru, they may immediately perform a Move action at no AP cost.

Additionally, as a Reaction the wearer may spend 1 Kanohi Charge to gain Immunity to all damage suffered from falling until the start of their next turn.

Models

Two official Miru models were made by LEGO: the standard Great and aerial Noble. Three official Miru Nuva models were made by LEGO: the standard Great Nuva, and aerial Great Nuva, and vehicle-adapted Great Nuva.

RSG has several unofficial Miru models: the standard Noble (designed by Oomatu and crafted by Petrus), Hordika (designed by Oomatu and crafted by Petrus and HahliNuva), Modern Vanguard (designed by Perp3tual and crafted by Petrus), and Ancient Vanguard (designed by Oomatu and crafted by Petrus).
