The Kanohi Avsa is the Mask of Hunger.
The Kanohi Avsa allows the user to drain and absorb the strength of enemies at a distance. The Great version can also target a being’s “inner light”, which is a measurement of morality and positive emotions. If this “inner light” is completely drained from a target, they become a being of Shadow, and are locked in this state by a psychic barrier. Using this Kanohi is considered immoral and breaks the Toa Code.
An Avsa Nuva is created when a destined Avsa is dipped in Energized Protodermis. In addition to its standard abilities, the amount of strength, inner Light, etc. it can drain is increased, and its power can be shared with individuals near the user; however, it can only be used by Nuva beings.
In the Doronai Nui
Great
As a 2AP action, the wearer may spend one or more Kanohi Charges to force one being of their choice within 30ft to make a FORT save (DC +4, WIS). On a failure, the target suffers 1d3 ASD to their highest Physical Attribute Score. If the target has multiple Physical Attribute Scores that are tied for highest, you may choose the score affected. This ASD lasts until the end of the being’s next Rest. Additionally, you temporarily increase your matching Attribute Score by an amount equal to the ASD dealt. This Kanohi can never increase an Attribute Score by more than 2 past its natural maximum (e.g. a dark Toa uses an Avsa on two different beings, dealing 3 Strength ASD to each of them; the dark Toa only increases their Strength by 2). This increase lasts until the end of your next Rest. Additionally, if you are playing with Internal Light rules, the wearer of an Avsa may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to force a being within 60ft to perform a WILL save (DC +2, WIS). On a failure, the target loses X points of Internal Light, where X is equal to the number of Kanohi Charges spent. If this reduces a being’s Internal Light to 0, the wearer may spend 1 additional Kanohi Charge to create a mental barrier in the target, preventing them from naturally regenerating Internal Light. Only very specific sonic frequencies or long-term therapies can remove this barrier.
Noble

This ASD lasts until the end of the being’s next Rest. Additionally, you temporarily increase your matching Attribute Score by an amount equal to the ASD dealt. This Kanohi can never increase an Attribute Score by more than 4 past its natural maximum (e.g. a dark Toa uses a Nuva Avsa on two different beings, dealing 4 Strength ASD to each of them; the dark Toa only increases their Strength by 4). This increase lasts until the end of your next Rest. Additionally, if you are playing with Internal Light rules, the wearer of an Avsa may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to force a being within 60ft to perform a WILL save (DC +4, WIS).
