The Kanohi Rau is the Mask of Translation. A Rau Nuva is created when a destined Rau is exposed to Energized Protodermis.
The Kanohi Rau allows the user to understand and communicate in almost any language. The Noble Rau only allows the user to understand and use written language, while the Great Rau allows for spoken language.
The Great Kanohi Rau allows the user to understand and communicate in almost any written or spoken language that they can see or hear. This includes languages of Rahi and those from Spherus Magna, as well as understanding the meaning behind runes, symbols and pictography, but not body language or idioms.
The Noble Kanohi Rau allows the user to understand and communicate in almost any written language that they can see. This includes languages of Rahi and those from Spherus Magna, as well as understanding the meaning behind runes, symbols and pictography, but not body language or idioms.
The Great Kanohi Rau Nuva allows the user to understand and communicate in almost any written or spoken language that they can see or hear. Additionally, the mask allows the user to gain deeper insights into the material they translate.

Translate disks allow the thrower to understand any inscriptions on an object struck by the disk,[1] or any inscriptions written by a being struck by the disk.
Higher level disks have an increased duration.
