The Kanohi Kokrimau is the Mask of Insect Control (also called Swarms). A Kokrimau Nuva is created when a destined Kokrimau is exposed to Energized Protodermis.
The Kanohi Kokrimau allows its user simultaneously control a large number of insect-like Rahi (including arachnids and crustaceans). The mask is less effective against other kinds of Rahi, and on Rahi of higher intelligence.
The Great Kanohi Kokrimau allows the user to simultaneously control the mind of a large number of targets, allowing them to direct their actions. When doing so, the user is able to see surface level thoughts of the targets. Additionally, the mask can be used to deal debilitating mental blasts, and can be used to help calm a panicked or frenzied beings. More intelligent minds are able to resist the mask's power to a degree.
The power of the Great mask is harder to resist compared to the Noble variants, and the mind control effect is thus able to be maintained for longer.

Insect Control disks causes the target to be under the control of the thrower for the duration of the effect. The thrower may also chose to deliver a mental blast instead.
Higher level disks are harder to resist and have an increased duration.
- The power only works on Rahi, and particularily insectoid, arachnid, or crustacean Rahi that would normally be resistant to mind control. While still functional, the mask is far less effective on Rahi of other taxonomies.
