The Kanohi Urafowa is the Mask of Undeath.
The Kanohi Urafowa is the Mask of Undeath.

The Kanohi Urafowa is a Kanohi that siphons off a fraction of its user's life energy from their body, which it infuses the body with after death. This function is then dictated by the effective state of the Red Star reanimation systems. In either case, upon the death of the user, the mask clamps itself onto their head. If the Red Star is in proper working order, then the user's consciousness is re-anchored to the body, and the user will come online over the course of 12 hours after death. Even if the body is mostly destroyed, a deceased head wearing a mask of Undeath will be reanimated and its life/personality maintained unless the mask is removed. If the Red Star is not properly functioning, the body is then animated by the lifeforce stored in the mask and attempts to fulfill the last objective the user had while living, upon the completion of which the wearer returns to death. The mask gives the user no other special power and will slow down their processing, making it harder for them to fight. While undead, the user will lose all illumination in their eyes, making them empty and black. A Toa would consider this mask Immoral.

An Urafowa can be made from Weaken, Remove Poison, and Enlarge Kanoka.
A Urafowa Nuva is created when a destined Urafowa is dipped in Energized Protodermis. In addition to its standard abilities, it can be used to reanimate recently-deceased beings (with the same restrictions as normal use of the mask), and its power can be shared with individuals near the user; however, it can only be used by Nuva beings.

As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges. For each Kanohi Charge spent, they may transfer 10 Hit Points into or out of the Kanohi. Hit Points transferred to the Kanohi reduce the wearer’s current Hit Points and Hit Point Total by an equivalent amount, while Hit Points transferred out of the Kanohi increase only the wearer’s Hit Point Total.
When a being first dons the mask, 1 Hit Point is immediately transferred into the mask. This Hit Point cannot be transferred out of the mask.
If the wearer dies, one of two things happens:
* If the Red Star is working properly, their body is fully repaired, and they are restored to life over the course of the next 3d4 hours so long as the Kanohi remains on the wearer’s body.
* If the Red Star is not working properly, then their body is reanimated with current Hit Points and a Hit Point Total both equal to the number of Hit Points stored in the Kanohi. The wearer permanently gains the Undead condition, and their past self is treated as the one who resurrected them. Permanently reduce all Attribute Scores by 1. As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges to temporarily increase each Attribute Score by an equivalent amount, up to their original values. This effect lasts for 10 Rounds.

The Kanohi Urafowa is the Mask of Undeath.

The Urafowa siphons off a fraction of its user's life energy from their body, which it infuses the body with after death. Using this Kanohi is considered immoral and breaks the Toa Code.

The Kanohi Urafowa is sometimes fitted with a set of black-tinted lenses over its eyes, giving the wearer the appearance of undeath regardless of the status of the mask.
