The Kanohi Kakama is the Mask of Speed. A Kakama Nuva is created when a destined Kakama is exposed to Energized Protodermis.

The Kanohi Kakama can be used to greatly increase the wearer’s speed, far faster than the eye can follow.

The Great Kanohi Kakama allows the user to move at incredible speeds on all surfaces, in addition to granting them the reflexes, senses, and cardio to handle it, as well as protection against the resulting friction. When using the mask, nearby details and features appear to blur and fade from view from the perspective of the user.

The Great mask allows for greater speed than the Noble Kakama. The user may reach speeds so great that they start to perceive their surroundings in slow-motion.

The Noble Kanohi Kakama allows the user to move at incredible speeds on all surfaces, in addition to granting them the reflexes, senses, and cardio to handle it, as well as protection against the resulting friction. When using the mask, nearby details and features appear to blur and fade from view from the perspective of the user.

The Great Nuva mask allows for greater speed than the Great Kakama. Additionally, it allows the user to pass through solid material without harm by rapidly vibrating their own molecules.

The Noble Kanohi Kakama Nuva allows the user to move at incredible speeds on all surfaces, in addition to granting them the reflexes, senses, and cardio to handle it, as well as protection against the resulting friction. When using the mask, nearby details and features appear to blur and fade from view from the perspective of the user.

The Noble Nuva mask allows for greater speed than the Noble Kakama, though not quite at the level of the Great Kakama. Additionally, it allows the user to pass through solid material without harm by vibrating their own molecules.

Speed disks make a target move forward rapidly for the duration of the effect.

Higher level disks make the target move even faster.

  • In combination with the Miru, Mask of Levitation, flight can be achived.

In the Doronai Nui

This is reflective of the rules as presented in Version 0.9.1.2

Always Active: No
AP Cost: 1
In-Combat Charge Duration: 1 KC = 3 Rounds (FO)
Great Out-of-Combat Charge Duration: 30 Minutes

As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges. For each Charge spent in this way, multiply each of the wearer’s base speeds by 2. Additionally, when the wearer activates this Kanohi, they may immediately perform a Move action at no AP cost.

Additionally, as a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges. For each charge spent in this way, they may perform a single attack (not an Attack Action, and so does not benefit from abilities such as Flurry). When performing attacks in this way, they suffer DADV on damage rolls.

Always Active: No
AP Cost: 1
In-Combat Charge Duration: 1 KC = 3 Rounds (FO)
Noble Out-of-Combat Charge Duration: 15 Minutes

As a 1AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges. For each Charge spent in this way, multiply each of the wearer’s base speeds by 1.5 (rounding down).

Additionally, as a 2AP action, the wearer may spend 1 or more Kanohi Charges. For each charge spent in this way, they may perform a single attack (not an Attack Action). When performing attacks in this way, they suffer DADV on damage rolls.

Additionally, when the wearer activates this Kanohi, they may immediately perform a Move action at no AP cost. For the duration of the effect, the wearer may vibrate to travel through solid objects; every 5ft of movement through a solid object counts as 15ft.

Usage

The Kanohi Kakama is closely associated with Po-Matoran due to it being the mask worn by Toa Pohatu in legends.

Speeds disks were used in Metru Nui to propell Vahki Transports. They were also used in the trigger mechanism for Lightstone Rifles, striking the projectiles to grant them speed.

Models

Two official Kakama models were made by LEGO: the standard Great and aerial Noble. Two official Akaku Nuva models were made by LEGO: the standard Great Nuva and aerial-adapted Great Nuva.

RSG has several unofficial Kakama models: the standard Noble (designed by Oomatu and Perp3tual and crafted by HahliNuva), Hordika (designed by Oomatu and crafted by Petrus and HahliNuva), modern Vanguard (designed by Perp3tual and crafted by Petrus), and Ancient Vanguard (designed by Oomatu and crafted by Petrus).
