History
At some point shortly after the fall of the Barraki, one local Ekedax struck Mahkari's coastal shelf in a fit of spectacular anger, hitting a natural weak point by sheer chance and causing a massive fissure that subsequently broke the entire island into two pieces. Ever since, one half of Mahkari, no longer securely anchored to the sea floor, has been slowly drifting away from the other half, creating two smaller islands now known as North Mahkari and South Mahkari.

On first glance, Mahkari looks less like an island so much as a forest simply growing right out of the sea. The vast majority of the island is periodically flooded, and thus mangroves are the predominant form of flora.
