Monuhi is the central-southern region of the Southern Continent.

History

During the days of the League of Six Kingdoms, Monuhi formed the centerpiece and treasury of Barraki Mantax’s golden kingdom of Ruangu, and since then has remained one of the richest regions in the universe in the millennia after. Monuhi’s former capital, Inipani, still is an unmatched statement to wealth and prosperity, though following the fall of Ruangu, it has gradually begun to show signs of wear. Today, Monuhi is home to countless merchant baronies, and is considered the universe’s chief exporter of rare metals and gems, with its reach extending as far as the southern islands.

Landscape

Also known as the Black Plains, this region is largely covered by the ashes of Mount Valmai.

Tentatively considered part of the Monuhi province, the small island of Kaugamua lies in the middle of the Tren Krom River, which flows in a different direction every half-year. Due to the shallow waters of Monuhi’s northern coast – a byproduct of the constant influx of ash from Mount Valmai to the north – Kaugamua, the “Cat of the River,” serves as the only viable harbor for larger vessels in the region. The goods are then ferried to the mainland by smaller vessels.

Society

Monuhi is inhabited both by the native Augafi species and a large number of Matoran miners – chiefly Onu- and Fe-Matoran – who extract Monuhi’s mineral wealth for export.

In addition to its role as a major trading hub, Kaugamua is also known for its major Matoran temple and large Matoran populace – among them a sizable number of Ce-Matoran.
