Attribute Score Bonuses: Your Species Attribute Score bonuses are based on your Elemental Tribe (see the Elemental Index). Each Tribe has three associated Attribute scores; at character creation, increase any one Associated Attribute Score by 2 and another by 1, or increase all three by 1.

Size: Turaga are a Small species, and receive +1 to AC, +4 to Stealth, and -1 to Attack Rolls.

Default Armor: Normal Turaga will have a starting AC of 8 (Light on both arms and legs, a Kanohi mask on their head, and one Medium in their torso slot, along with +1 AC from their Small size). They must meet the Strength requirements to wear Heavy and Ultraheavy Armor Pieces.

Starting Gear: Turaga begin play with one Badge of Office, built using the Weapon System. These are typically in the form of a Staff or a common worker’s tool such as a saw or hammer, but can take many forms. Turaga also begin with a Noble Kanohi in a shape of their choosing.

Subspecies and Clans: Turaga are divided into 16 subspecies, based upon their Elemental Tribe. They often find themselves in leadership positions in villages and cities, the inhabitants of which could be considered their Clan. Some Turaga may elect to serve as supervisors or managers of companies or various industrial installations across the Matoran Universe, and while they are more than willing to work with many species, they are most often found in the presence of Matoran.

Minor Species Boons

Language: Turaga begin play with the ability to read, write, and speak Modern Matoric, as well as one other Major Matoran Dialect of their choice.

Shadow on the Wall of History: Turaga have ADV1 on one Intelligence-based Skill of their choice, chosen at character creation or when a Toa becomes a Turaga.

Lesser Element Sense: Turaga have the ability to sense any instances of the element they’re aligned with within 100 feet.

Virtuous Leaders: All Turaga have Proficiency in Leadership and Diplomacy.

Major Species Boons

Badge of Office: Turaga have the ability to designate one Weapon as their Badge of Office, which is granted the Badge of Office Component for 0 Slots.

  • Badge of Office Component - Select five Skills associated with Intelligence, Charisma, or Wisdom. You gain +3 on all those Skills. If for some reason you lose or wish to replace the original item you gain from this Boon, you may designate a new Weapon to earn the effect described here instead.

Elemental Power: There are some limitations to the Elemental Attack Forms that Turaga have access to. Turaga may only purchase and invest Skill Points into the following forms: Bolt, Feint, Elemental Armor, Elemental Strike, and Intervention. Turaga of Physical Elemental Tribes are also able to use Elemental Item.

Kanohi Wielder: You can use Noble Kanohi (but not Great Kanohi). You are also considered proficient with the Use Kanohi Skill. Turaga must wear a Kanohi, or they immediately gain the Unmasked condition. They can only lose the Unmasked Condition if they don a Kanohi.

Leader of the People: Your age and status in the community grants you respect. While you may always lead and advise Matoran normally, if you need to demand their obedience, you may give orders to one or more NPC Matoran as a 4AP action; you make a Diplomacy check with ADV2, and the chosen Matoran must make a Will save, opposed by your Diplomacy Roll. If your roll is higher, the Matoran will obey your command (though they choose how to do so), so long as obeying the order does not threaten harm to themselves or other Matoran. You may use this ability a number of times per day equal to [PROF + CHA].
