The Kanohi Olisi is the Great Mask of Alternate Futures.

The Olisi allows its user to project a mental illusion of an alternate timeline or a possible future into one or more being's minds; the user also views the illusion. While a Kanohi Olisi user could place a vision in another's head and leave it active without maintaining concentration, the visions become easier for the target to escape. The power of the Olisi can be activated normally or through an energy burst.

A Olisi Nuva is created when a destined Olisi is dipped in Energized Protodermis. In addition to its standard abilities, its power can be shared with individuals near the user; however, it can only be used by Nuva beings.

History

Only one Kanohi Olisi existed in the core dimension; this mask was created by the Great Beings and later given to Karzahni.[1]

After being altered by the Pit Mutagen, the mask fused to Karzahni's head; despite this, he could still use its power. After being driven insane by Makuta Teridax, the visions cast by Karzahni became less accurate.

The mask and Karzahni's body were later restored to their pre-mutation form by Mata Nui during the Reformation of Spherus Magna.

When Karzahni was killed on Spherus Magna, the mask was broken; as such, currently no Kanohi Olisi exist in the core dimension.[2]

Trivia

  • Only the Great Beings know how to create another Kanohi Olisi.[3] However, if Karzahni had died inside of the Matoran Universe and his mask been broken, and had he been revived on the Red Star, he would have been given a new Olisi, as the Red Star restores the most recent forms of deceased beings.[4]
