Hahnah are amphibious crab-like Rahi that inhabited the Pit.
History
The Hahnah species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe.[1]
When the Great Cataclysm struck and the Pit was destroyed, allowing its occupants to escape into the Black Water of Aqua Magna above, a population of Hahnah migrated to the planet's waters as well.
1,001 years later, Mata Nui reformed Spherus Magna, including Aqua Magna. Some Hahnah may have died during the process.[2] The Hahnah of Aqua Magna continued to live underwater, relatively unaffected by the reformation. After the Great Spirit Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, the remaining Hahnah emigrated from the Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna.[3]
Jaller's Hahnah
One Hahnah was attracted to the heat and light produced by Toa Mahri Jaller's Aquatic Power Blade during the Toa Mahri's escape from undersea caves, where they were being held by the Barraki, The Hahnah attacked a Sea Squid that was draining Kongu's energies. It then followed Jaller during his time in the Pit. Upon seeing it, Jaller wondered if the crab viewed him the same way he himself had seen Toa Mata Tahu when Tahu first arrived on Mata Nui.[4]
At one point, Jaller took Hewkii's suggestion[5] and strapped his Cordak Blaster to the crab's back to provide a distraction in battle.[6] At a later point, Jaller took back his Cordak Blaster.[7] When Jaller was teleported back to Metru Nui by Matoro, the crab was left behind.[8]
Abilities and Traits
The Hahnah Crabs are amphibious, usually land-dwelling Rahi. They have sharp claws and are attracted to Heat and Light.
Tools
Jaller briefly mounted his Cordak Blaster on his Hahnah Crab. He later disarmed it.
