The Po-Wahi Quarry was a large, canyon-enclosed area of Po-Wahi on the island of Mata Nui.

Landscape

When the Po-Matoran of Metru Nui occupied the island of Mata Nui, they built the Quarry inside a canyon formation in the Motara Desert. It was here that the Po-Matoran mined for stone to be used in their carvings. It also featured six large statues of the Toa Mata's Kanohi mounted on Matoran heads. These statues served as doorways to the various sections of the quarry, unlocked by means of small keys emblazoned with the symbols of the elements

The Quarry was cleared by the newly reawakened Bohrok swarms, and wiped from existence by the Great Spirit Mata Nui's reawakening.

Nui-Jaga Nest

Underneath one of the statues was a Nui-Jaga nest, which is where the Po-Matoran Ahkmou acquired his infected Comet balls which caused the Po-Koro Epidemic. The nest was discovered by the wandering Av-Matoran Takua using a key he had found. With his help, it was destroyed by Toa Mata Pohatu, who used the balls to collapse the support stalks of the nest and destroy it. The Toa and Matoran successfully escaped the tunnel collapse with the use of Pohatu's Kanohi Kakama.
