The League Era

The League Era refers to the long period in which the the League of Six Kingdoms, an alliance of species-based states, was appointed by the Great Spirit to carry out his will in governing the Matoran Universe. The era was marked by relative peace in the imperial cores of each kingdom, although the numerous border regions saw constant skirmishes and rebellions which were repressed with brutal efficiency. The cruelty of the League's rulers, the Barraki, alongside later propaganda by the Brotherhood of Makuta, made this a reviled and despised era in the minds of later beings, although some beings remember it positively for its artistic achievements.
