History

After the end of the Prosecution, the island in the center of the Tren Krom River, Kaugamua, was added to Asonara’s territory in order to weaken Monuhi. This generally only had judicial effects, however, as Kaugamua naturally remained intertwined with Monuhi’s economy.

Following the Great Cataclysm, the southern part of Asonara broke off and became the island of Voya Nui, leaving behind a lake full of mutagenic water, created by a waterfall from the heavens, that formed in its place.

Landscape

The isolated desert zone at the center of the continent is a place where few beings dare to tread, not only because high mountain ranges surround it on all sides and makes approach difficult, but also because it is full of Bomohku raiders and dangerous Rahi, both of whom know no mercy. The Green Belt at the southern edge of the desert marks the only truly habitable zone of the region for those who aren’t adapted to it. Towering over the Green Belt is Mount Valmai, an active volcano responsible for the unique climatic conditions further south.

Society

Rumors of the malformed Matoran said to live in the Green Belt usually keep travelers away from the area in fear of ending up like them, while the strangely sophisticated tools and weapons of these odd castaways also deter the Bomohku.
