History
During the days of the League of Six Kingdoms, Monuhi formed the centerpiece and treasury of Barraki Mantax’s golden kingdom of Ruangu, and continued to be one of the richest regions in the universe for millennia to come.
After the end of the Prosection, the island in the center of the Tren Krom River, Kaugamua, was added to Asonara’s territory in order to weaken Monuhi. This generally only had judicial effects, however, as Kaugamua naturally remained intertwined with Monuhi’s economy.
Landscape
Also known as the Black Plains, Monuhi is largely covered by the ashes of Mount Valmai. Its capital Inipani is still an unmatched statement to wealth and prosperity, though since the collapse of the League it began to show signs of wear. Formerly considered part of the Monuhi province, the small island of Kaugamua lies in the middle of the Tren Krom River, which alternates its direction of flow every half-year. Due to the shallow waters of Monuhi’s north coast (a byproduct of the constant influx of ash from Mount Valmai to the north), Kaugamua is the only viable harbor for larger vessels in the region. The goods are then transported to the mainland province of Monuhi by smaller vessels. In addition to its role as a major trading hub, Monuhi is also known for its major Matoran temple and large Matoran populace – among them a sizable number of Ce-Matoran.
Society
Today, Monuhi is home to countless merchant princedoms and is the universe’s chief exporter of rare metals and gems, its reach extending as far as the Southern Islands. The province is inhabited both by the native Ihaugafe species and a large number of Matoran miners, chiefly Onu- and Fe-Matoran, who extract the region’s mineral wealth for export.
