Karzahni is a desolate island in the Matoran Universe, ruled by the same being for which it was named.

History

The island of Karzahni was originally intended to act as a place of repair for injured or lazy Matoran, where they could be healed in mind or body and then returned to their homelands in a better state than they departed in. Unfortunately, this would not come to pass.

Karzahni is a barren place populated by scores of Manas crabs and the unfortunate Matoran who once were sent here for repair. It is in many respects a wasteland, ruled by the eponymous and insane Karzahni, and resembles a prison colony more than anything else. The island was claimed by Pridak in the early days of the universe, but even he was unable to enforce this claim due to the inhospitable nature of the island.

Since no one sent there for repair has returned for thousands of years, the island of Karzahni was eventually forgotten, any travelers coming across it by chance either turned into inmates or driven away by the Manas. In Matoran myth, however, it lived on as a place where slothful and undutiful Matoran will one day be sent.

Landscape

While the island may appear to be directly south of Metru Nui on some ancient maps, it in fact lies above the tunnels connecting the City of Legends to the Great Dome.

Society

Karzahni rules his island with an iron fist, having broken the spirits of the vast majority of his Matoran victims.
