Kailani is a Ga-Matoran native to Metru Nui.

Biography

Metru Nui

On Metru Nui, Kailani lived and worked in Ga-Metru.

Before the events of the Great Cataclysm, she was summoned to the Coliseum by Makuta Teridax, disguised as Turaga Dume, and coerced into entering a Matoran Sphere by the Vahki under his command. She entered stasis, but was rescued by the Toa Metru and spirited away from Metru Nui to the island of Mata Nui.

Mata Nui

Kailani was awakened with the other Matoran by the Toa Metru on the shores of Naho Bay, which resulted in the Toa Metru becoming Turaga.[1] Although her power and size were decreased by the energy-sapping effects of the Matoran Sphere, she participated in the construction of Ga-Koro, supervised by Turaga Nokama, using pieces of the disassembled Airships that had been used to transport the Matoran to the island.[2]

In Ga-Koro, Kailani became a Craftswoman who made tools, including Fishhooks, Sickles, Hatchets, and Kolhii Sticks. She relied on Matoran to bring her any supplies she needed.[3]

Towards the end of the Great War, Kailani was trapped in a sunken hut along with Nokama and all the other Ga-Matoran when a Tarakava attacked Ga-Koro. She was later freed by the wandering Av-Matoran Takua and witnessed a fight between Toa Mata Gali and the infected Rahi. This battle was very short and ended in Gali grabbing the infected mask off of the Tarakava.[4]

During the course of the Bohrok Invasion, she also took a last stand with Nokama, Onewa, and the other Matoran present, during the Attack on Ga-Koro, shortly before the Bahrag were defeated by the Toa Mata. [5] Following the defeat of the Bohrok-Kal, Kailani was rebuilt into a stronger form to compensate for the diminishments in size and power caused by the Matoran Sphere, as were all other Matoran.[6]

Return to Metru Nui

Kailani helped in the construction of Boats for the Matoran's return to Metru Nui.[7] Upon her arrival in the city, Kailani helped with the other Matoran in the reconstruction of the regions that had been damaged in the last millennium. She temporarily stopped her work of reconstruction on order of Jaller, to force the Turaga to reveal where the Toa Nuva had gone, but she eventually got back to work.[8]

Kailani later left the city of Metru Nui, with the other surviving Matoran, to live on Spherus Magna, following the defeat of Teridax in the Battle of Bara Magna, freeing the oppressed Matoran.[9][10]
