== History ==
The Vako species was created by the [[Makuta]] using [[Virus]]es and [[Protodermis#Liquid Protodermis|Liquid Protodermis]] to one of the Rahi to inhabit the [[Matoran Universe]].{{BookCitation|MGttU|63|entryname=The Makuta}}

A population of Vako made their home in [[Metru Nui]]. After the [[Great Cataclysm]], these Vako fled the {{p|Visorak|Rahi}} and migrated through the [[Great Barrier]] to the newly-created island of {{p|Mata Nui|Location}}.{{MediaCitation|MoS}} Here, Vako herds roamed the plains for approximately 1,000 years. Even Rahi [[Infected Kanohi|infected]] by [[Teridax]] steered clear of the Vako.
