The [[Great Beings]] created Umbra more than 100,000 years ago. == Abilities and Traits ==
Umbra is very cold and completely dedicated to his job. Whether mask seekers are heroes or villains does not matter to him; all must prove their worth by defeating him.{{GregCitation|OGD|page=161|post=6403|lines=7,18}} He tries his hardest to beat his opponents to honor his duty, not to relish in their defeat.{{GregCitation|OGD|page=210|post=8382|lines=7,14}}

Umbra wields a variety of [[Light]] powers; though these powers are less extensive than a [[Takanuva#Abilities and Traits|Toa of Light]]'s, Umbra can do some things that Toa cannot, such as transforming himself into a beam of light.
