A '''Teacher''' was a [[Ga-Matoran]] who worked in a [[Ga-Metru]] School and taught classes about various subjects. These subjects included logic, philosophy, elementary translation,{{BookCitation|BA3|61}} purification of [[Protodermis]], history of Metru Nui, environmental science, properties of Liquid Protodermis, and diplomacy, among others.{{GregCitation|CwGF|page=408|post=10802023}}

Classrooms were spacious and comfortable in design and equipped with the latest instructional technologies, as well as models of equipment used in the Protodermis purification process. During their careers, Teachers sought the coveted title of Exemplary Teacher, awarded to a Matoran with particular prowess at teaching and who had a high rate of academic success among their students. As part of their duty, Teachers were also expected to log hours in the Ga-Metru Labs, working alongside [[Matoran Occupations#Metru Nui Occupations|Lab Workers]] to come up with innovative techniques for Protodermis purification.

== Proto Levels ==
A Teacher's experience in their field was determined by a rating system called Proto Levels. [[Nokama]] had a rating of 9 in both logic and philosophy, which was considered exemplary.

== Student ==
A Student was a Matoran who was enrolled in a Teacher's class and benefited from the information imparted by her. A Teacher's student body was not only made up of other Ga-Matoran, but also of Matoran from other Metru (mainly [[Ko-Metru]] or [[Onu-Metru]]) who came seeking knowledge or academic training. To ensure privacy, each Student's desk featured a locking system that involved a sliding tile puzzle. Students often had small indoor Protodermis purification systems to use for homework assignments. [[Vhisola]] was a Student of Nokama.
