Before the [[Great Cataclysm]], Taiki resided and worked in [[Le-Metru]]. He was captured by the [[Vahki]] under the command of [[Makuta]] [[Teridax]], disguised as [[Turaga]] [[Dume]]. He was then forced into a [[Matoran Sphere]] but was later [[Great Rescue|rescued]] by the [[Toa Metru]] and awakened on the shores of [[Naho Bay]] on the island of {{p|Mata Nui|Location}}.

Due to the effects of the Matoran Sphere, Taiki's body was reduced in size and he forgot memories of his life on Metru Nui. After arriving on Mata Nui, Taiki worked for the construction of [[Le-Koro]], which was directed by [[Matau]] and utilized melted pieces from the [[Airship]]s which the [[Toa]] had use to travel to Mata Nui with the Matoran.{{BookCitation|BW}} On Mata Nui, Taiki became a [[Gukko Force]] pilot, and was usually on duty patrolling the skies of [[Le-Wahi]].

During a [[Rahi]] [[Battle of Le-Wahi|attack]] on Le-Koro, Taiki, [[Tamaru]], and the other Gukko Force Members were the only ones to evade capture by the [[Nui-Rama]]. They hid themselves from view when they heard the sound of [[Takanuva|Takua]]'s arrival in the village, but when they heard him play a flute they emerged and welcomed him. Later, when the Nui-Rama came to attack the village again, Taiki rode a [[Gukko]] into battle. [[Matau]] and the other Le-Matoran were freed with the help of [[Onua]].

When the [[Bohrok Invasion|Bohrok attempted to remove all life on Mata Nui]], Taiki was one of the Le-Matoran to be [[Battle for Le-Koro|captured]] by the [[Bohrok]] and have his [[Kanohi]] replaced by a [[Krana]]. The Krana was taken off later when [[Kongu]] and Tamaru led them into an ambush by the [[Boxor]]s, defeating the Bohrok and freeing the village. Later, after the [[Bohrok-Kal]] had been [[Battle Against the Bohrok-Kal|defeated]], Taiki and his fellow Matoran were [[The Rebuilding|rebuilt]] into more physically powerful forms.

Taiki later helped in the construction of [[Boat]]s to facilitate his, and the other [[Matoran]]'s return to [[Metru Nui]], where he and the other Matoran began reconstruction work. He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of [[Jaller]], to force the Turaga to reveal where the [[Toa Nuva]] had gone, but he eventually got back to work.
