== Landscape ==
When the [[Po-Matoran]] of [[Metru Nui]] occupied the island of Mata Nui, they built the Quarry inside a canyon formation in the [[Motara Desert]]. It was here that the Po-Matoran mined for stone to be used in their [[Carver|carvings]]. It also featured six large statues of the [[Toa Mata]]'s [[Kanohi]] mounted on [[Matoran]] heads. These statues served as doorways to the various sections of the quarry, unlocked by means of small keys emblazoned with the symbols of the elements

The Quarry was cleared by the newly reawakened [[Bohrok]] swarms, and wiped from existence by the Great Spirit {{p|Mata Nui|Being}}'s reawakening.

=== Nui-Jaga Nest ===
Underneath one of the statues was a [[Nui-Jaga]] nest, which is where the Po-Matoran [[Ahkmou]] acquired his [[Infected Kanohi|infected]] [[Comet]] [[Kolhii Ball|balls]] which caused the [[Po-Koro Epidemic]]. The nest was discovered by the wandering [[Av-Matoran]] [[Takua]] using a key he had found. With his help, it was destroyed by Toa Mata [[Pohatu]], who used the balls to collapse the support stalks of the nest and destroy it. The [[Toa]] and Matoran successfully escaped the tunnel collapse with the use of Pohatu's [[Kanohi]] [[Kakama]].
