On Metru Nui, Piatra lived and worked in [[Po-Metru]]. He was captured by the [[Vahki]] under the command of [[Makuta]] [[Teridax]], disguised as [[Turaga]] [[Dume]]. He was then forced into a [[Matoran Sphere]] but was later [[Great Rescue|rescued]] by the [[Toa Metru]] and awakened on the shores of [[Naho Bay]] on the island of {{p|Mata Nui|Location}}.{{BookCitation|BA4}}

His time in a Matoran Sphere caused Piatra to decrease in size and strength as well as lose his memories of Metru Nui. He helped in the building of [[Po-Koro]] alongside the other Matoran, under Turaga [[Onewa]], taking the materials from dismantled [[Airship]]s which had been used to bring the Matoran to Mata Nui.{{BookCitation|BW}}

When the Matoran returned to Metru Nui, Piatra helped in the construction of [[boat]]s to help in the return trip. He also helped in the reconstruction of Metru Nui, as the city had been severely damaged in the [[Great Cataclysm]]. He temporarily stopped his work of reconstruction on order of [[Jaller]], to force the Turaga to reveal where the [[Toa Nuva]] had gone, but he eventually got back to work.{{BookCitation|BL1}}
