== History ==
The Phase Dragon species was created by the [[Makuta]] using [[Virus]]es and [[Protodermis#Liquid Protodermis|Liquid Protodermis]] to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the [[Matoran Universe]].{{BookCitation|MGttU|63|entryname=The Makuta}}

In [[Metru Nui]], the Phase Dragons used to chase [[Airship]]s and vehicles speeding along the [[Le-Metru]] [[Moto-Hub#Test Track|Test Track]], as well as other Rahi. After the [[Great Cataclysm]] emptied Metru Nui of most activity, they would pursue anything that moved, sometimes charging to get something to run and accidentally causing harm.{{BookCitation|RB|70|entryname=Phase Dragon}}

== Abilities and Traits ==
Although they may look frightening, Phase Dragons have a surprisingly gentle personality. Their name comes from their uncanny ability to become intangible, they shift to a ghost-like form and are able to "phase" through solid objects.
