The Parakrekks species was created by the [[Makuta]] using [[Virus]]es and [[Protodermis#Liquid Protodermis|Liquid Protodermis]] to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the [[Matoran Universe]].{{BookCitation|MGttU|63|entryname=The Makuta}}

The Parakrekks follow in the wake of the [[Protocairn]]s. Long after the larger creatures die, the Parakrekks linger, tearing down structures with their claws and devouring the fragments.{{BookCitation|BEU|110|entryname=Parakrekks}}
