Kumo resided and worked in [[Le-Metru]] prior to the [[Great Cataclysm]]. He was captured by the [[Vahki]] under the command of [[Makuta]] [[Teridax]], disguised as [[Turaga]] [[Dume]]. He was then forced into a [[Matoran Sphere]] but was later [[Great Rescue|rescued]] by the [[Toa Metru]] and awakened on the shores of [[Naho Bay]] on the island of [[Mata Nui (Location)|Mata Nui]].{{BookCitation|BA4}}

Despite being weakened by imprisonment in a Matoran Sphere, Kumo took part in the construction of [[Le-Koro]] under Turaga [[Matau]], with recycled pieces from the [[Airship]]s that the [[Toa]] used to travel to the island.{{BookCitation|BW}}

Kumo was said to be the best Le-Matoran [[Bamboo Disk|Disk]] maker in Le-Koro. Some of the Disks he created were used in the Disk range, which [[Tamaru]] tended to, while others were supplied to the [[Gukko Force]]. He sold his Disks for five Bamboo Wood apiece.{{OnlineCitation|MNOG2|5}}
