The '''Fau Swamp''' was a marshy area that extended through most of the jungle floor of [[Le-Wahi]] on the island of {{p|Mata Nui|Location}}.

== History ==
The Fau Swamp came into being when the Great Spirit {{p|Mata Nui|Being}}'s camouflage system was accidentally activated during the [[Great Cataclysm]] and created the island of Mata Nui. It was highly dangerous due to the number of dangerous [[Rahi]] and carnivorous plants that inhabited the swamp.

When the [[Toa Metru]] arrived on the island of Mata Nui to search for a refuge for the [[Matoran]] of [[Metru Nui]], [[Matau]] got lost in the Fau Swamp. Seeing that the swamp was unsuitable for building a village upon, he resolved that the future village of [[Le-Koro]] would be located high in the treetops instead.

The Swamp was later destroyed when the [[Bohrok]] swarms were reawakened and cleansed the island of Mata Nui and the remains later wiped from existence completely by Mata Nui's awakening.
