The '''Daxia Fortress''' was a large fortress located on the end of the island of [[Daxia]]. It was the main base of operations for the [[Order of Mata Nui]].

== History ==
Daxia was first discovered by the [[Hand of Artakha]] more than 100,000 years ago. Although the island seemed uninhabitable at first, [[Toa]] [[Helryx]] realized that there were many natural wonders on the island, and established a base. The fortress was constructed, and the Order of Mata Nui was formed.{{BookCitation|BW}}

After the [[Toa Mata]] were created, they were transported to Daxia, and awoken inside a specialized chamber within the fortress. After being introduced to each other by Helryx, the Toa exited the chamber, and were trained in the use of their [[Kanohi|mask]] powers and Elemental Powers.{{BookCitation|BL10}}

100,000 years later, the Toa Mata (having since transformed into the more powerful [[Toa Nuva]]) were transported back to Daxia, where they witnessed the use of the [[Staff of Artakha]] to restore the damage done to the [[Matoran Universe]].{{OnlineCitation|TNB|9}}

After [[the Pit]] was destroyed, the Order was forced to construct their own jail within the fortress, where it housed several notorious criminals until the Pit was fixed.{{OnlineCitation|DW|1}}

[[Mazeka]] once infiltrated the fortress without clearance and snuck into Helryx's chamber in an attempt to get information about [[Karda Nui]]. There, he met with [[Tobduk]], and both left on a mission to [[Destral]].{{OnlineCitation|BIA|5}}

After [[Makuta]] [[Teridax]] took control of {{p|Mata Nui|Being}}'s [[Great Spirit Robot|body]], he destroyed the fortress, taking out many Order members with it.{{OnlineCitation|TB}}

== Locations ==
There were a myriad of locations, hallways and chambers inside the fortress, including a central well of energy, an armory, a vehicle center, and an equipment warehouse. The fortress was also equipped with technology powerful enough to bring the entire island down.{{BookCitation|BW}}
