The '''Amaja-Nui''' was one of the main features of the [[Kini-Nui]] on the island of {{p|Mata Nui|Location}}.

== History ==
The Amaja-Nui was a circular sandpit created by the [[Turaga]] of Mata Nui to tell stories, such as [[The Legend of Mata Nui]].

It was a little larger than an average [[Amaja Circle]]. It laid between a huge bust of [[Takua]]'s [[Kanohi]] [[Pakari]] (formerly a bust of a [[Toa]] head) on one side and the Kini-Nui temple on the other.

When Takua had gathered all six of the [[Toa Stone]]s hidden on the [[Mata Nui (Location)|island]], he ended up at the Kini-Nui where he met the six Turaga who told him to put the stones in the Amaja-Nui. He did so, resulting in the creation of a beam of energy which threw the [[Matoran]] onto the [[Ta-Wahi Beach]], giving him temporary amnesia. The beam also served to summon the [[Toa Mata]] to the island.

Takua and [[Jaller]] came here in their quest for the Seventh Toa and were ambushed and surrounded by six [[Rahkshi]]. The [[Toa Nuva]] then arrived. During the their [[Battle for the Kanohi Avohkii|battle]] against the Rahkshi, they stood in a circle atop the Amaja-Nui, to defend against the Rahkshi approaching from all sides. When the other five Rahkshi had been defeated, the [[Turahk]] clambered onto the Amaja-Nui and attacked the two Matoran. Jaller then sacrificed himself, inspiring Takua to don the [[Avohkii]], resulting in his transformation into [[Takanuva]].

It was cleared by the reawakened [[Bohrok]] swarms, and was wiped from existence by {{p|Mata Nui|Being}}'s reawakening.
