Lightning (Electricity) is an Elemental Power.
Example Usages
- Creating electricity
- Controlling electricity
- Absorbing electricity
- Unleashing a Lightning Nova Blast (Toa exclusive)
Combinations
- Beings other than Toa and the Krahka cannot combine powers of any sort to create a Protodermis cage. As long as each wields a different Element, and Light and Shadow are not included at the same time, any six Toa can create a Protodermis cage.[8]

Tribally-Linked Abilities
All beings elementally aligned with Electricity have Resistance to Electric-based Damage.
Elemental Talents
Wielders of Lightning have access to a variety of Elemental Talents; you begin play with one that lacks a prerequisite, and may unlock the others for their listed SP cost.
Arc Lightning - 2SP
Whenever you deal Electric damage to a creature with an elemental attack, you may also deal 1dX Electric damage to another creature within 10ft of the original target (this damage does not trigger Arc Lightning or Tazer). Your damage die (X) is one size smaller than the original damage die of the attack (d12 to d10 to d8 to d6 to d4 to d2).
Multi-Arc Electricity - 4SP (Prerequisite: Arc Lightning)
Whenever you deal Electric damage to a being with an elemental attack, you may also deal 1dX Electric damage to another being within 20ft of the original target, where X is equal to one die size smaller than the original damage die (d12 to d10 to d8 to d6 to d4 to d2). This additional damage does not trigger Tazer, though it does count as an Elemental Attack for the purposes of Multi-Arc Electricity. This talent cannot deal damage to a being that already suffered damage from Multi-Arc Electricity during this attack.
This Elemental Talents replaces the effects of Arc Lightning.
Defibrillator - 2SP
As a 2AP action, you may spend 5EE to send an intense burst of electricity towards a Dying being you can see within 30ft; that being is no longer Unconscious (though is still Dying), and their Hit Points are set to 0. The being remains Conscious until they either take damage, or Die. They can be Stabilized as normal.
Cardiac Arrest - 3SP (Prerequisite: Defibrillator)
As a 1AP action, you may spend 4EE to send a jolt of electricity towards a Dying being you can see within 30ft; that being suffers DADV2 on their next Death Saving Throw.
Note: The usage of this Elemental Talent is considered immoral and breaks the Toa Code.
Electric Charge - 2SP
Whenever an item in your possession would spend an Item Charge, if it has the Battery Port component, you may spend 6EE instead of that Item Charge.
Overcharge - 3SP
When you use an Elemental Attack Form, you may spend 10EE to reduce the AP cost by 1. When you do so, you must make a FORT Save; on a failure, you gain a level of Exhaustion.
Thunderclap - 1SP
Your elemental attacks may deal Sonic 1 damage.
When using an Elemental Attack, you may choose to deal both Electric and Sonic 1 damage, halving the EE cost of the Knock Prone Rider.
Tazer - 2SP
Whenever you deal Electric damage to a creature with an elemental attack (such as Bolt, Blast, or Elemental Armour, but not including Arc Lightning), you may spend 2 EE. If you do, the target must make a FORT save or lose 1 AP on their next turn.
Area of Effect
An explosive storm of electricity coalesces around a singular point, lashing out angrily and with the passion and voice of the storm. When you create your AoE, you must determine a Focal Point. While your AoE is active, you may use the Focal Point as a point of origin for Beam, Blast, and Bolt Attack Forms, treating the point as yourself for the purposes of calculating Range SPI.
Beings within the AoE must make a FORT Save at the start of your turn, or whenever they enter the AoE; on a failure, they suffer X Electric Damage (where X is equal to your Intensity), or half as much on a successful one. Beings suffer DADV1 on Saves made to resist the effects of your Arc Lightning, Multi-Arc Electricity, or Tazer Talents (if you have them unlocked).
Elemental Armor
Electricity is projected in violent, torrential waves of energy, shocking and lashing out at others in your proximity. All beings within 5ft suffer Xd4 Electric Damage (where X is equal to your Intensity) at the start of your turn. Additionally, they must make a FORT Save; on a failure, they lose 2 AP for the remainder of the round.

Matoran Universe
In the Matoran Universe, Lightning is often represented by the Matoran prefix Vo-.[9]
- Vo-Matoran represent the Element of Lightning. They contain a minuscule amount of elemental Lightning energy, to the extent that they have great resistance to electric shocks.[10] Matoran, Toa, and Turaga of Lightning are predominantly female.
- Vo-Toa have the Elemental Power of Lightning, allowing them to create, control, and absorb lightning. Their only real limitation is that when they run out of Elemental Lightning Energy, they must wait for it to recharge.
- Vo-Turaga have small traces of Elemental Lightning powers.
- Skakdi of Lightning can only access their power if they work with another Skakdi, or if they carry a weapon that allows them to focus their Lightning power individually.
- Tahnok-Kal had a wide range of Lightning powers.
- Rahkshi and Kraata of Chain Lightning and Electricity, as well as all Makuta, have Lightning powers.
- The Avohkah were sentient beings made of lightning.
- Some of the First Rahi can emit powerful electric shocks.
- All Electric Bugs can emit minor electric shocks.
- All Electric Spiders can emit minor electric shocks.
- The Red Serpent could emit powerful electric shocks.

Trivia
- The prefix "Vo-" was derived from the term "Volt," a unit used for measuring electric potential difference. The unit was named after Alessandro Volta, credited as creator of the first electrochemical cell.[11]
